Bagged or bagless Vacuum Cleaner

Bagged or bagless Vacuum Cleaner

Casing is getting very hot

The casing of the vacuum cleaner is getting very hot.

The casing of the vacuum cleaner is heated up by the motor.

Due to its high output, the motor generates a lot of heat, which is transferred to the casing. This is normal and does not affect the vacuum cleaner in any way.

This is not a fault.

The airways are blocked.

The casing of the vacuum cleaner can heat up if the airways are blocked by bulky objects.

Switch the vacuum cleaner off using the On/Off foot switch.

Remove the mains plug from the socket.

Disassemble the floorhead, hose, handle and telescopic tube.

You can carefully push large items which are jammed in the hose or in the telescopic tube towards the floorhead using a long object (e.g. a broom handle).

Items causing a blockage are usually easy to shake out of the handle.

After removing the cause, wait for approximately 30 minutes to allow the vacuum cleaner to cool down. It can then be switched on again.

The vacuum cleaner bag or dust container is full and/or the filters are clogged.

The casing of the vacuum cleaner can heat up if a full vacuum cleaner bag/dust container and clogged filters impede the optimum discharge of air from the vacuum cleaner.

Switch the vacuum cleaner off using the On/Off foot switch.

Remove the mains plug from the socket.

Vacuum cleaners with vacuum cleaner bag:

  • Replace the vacuum cleaner bag, the exhaust filter or the motor protection filter as required.

  • For further information on cleaning, see the article “Reinigungsleistung nimmt ab (mit Staubsaugerbeutel)”.

Vacuum cleaners with Boost CX1 dust container:

  • Empty the dust container and clean the dust container as required.

  • Clean the fine dust filter, the filter mat, the pre-filter and the filter frame.

  • Replace the exhaust filter if necessary.

  • For further information on cleaning, see the article “Reinigungsleistung nimmt ab (Boost CX1)”.

Vacuum cleaners with Blizzard dust container:

  • Empty the dust container and clean the dust container as required.

  • Empty and clean the filter frame.

  • Start the self-cleaning function of the fine dust filter manually.

  • For further information on cleaning, see the article “Reinigungsleistung nimmt ab (Blizzard CX1)”.

After removing the cause, wait for approximately 30 minutes to allow the vacuum cleaner to cool down. It can then be switched on again.

The cable is still retracted in the vacuum cleaner.

If the vacuum cleaner is used for a long period of time, the retracted mains connection cable in the vacuum cleaner heats up. The heat is transferred to the casing.

A temperature limiter switches the vacuum cleaner off automatically if it gets too hot.

Risk of damage due to overheating.

The mains connection cable may overheat after a long period of use.

If vacuuming for longer than 30 minutes, the mains connection cable must be pulled out all the way.
